Portable Buildings World Heritage Nomination Task Force
Australia has a rich and unrecognised history of portable and prefabricated buildings, dating back to the earliest colonial era.
In 2021 we convened our task force for UNESCO World Heritage listing of these unique and significant structures. It will be a long process, but one that we hope can shine a new light on the extraordinary background of some of our most enduring residences and shopfronts!
